Hello

​Ayorkor Adjei grew up learning American Sign Language from her brother, who is Deaf. She has a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland College Park. While getting her MA in Special Education / Deaf and Hard of Hearing, she also completed the Interpreters Training Program at California State University of Northridge. After working as an interpreter for a few years, she completed Master's degrees in Christian Education and Media Arts and Worship at Dallas Theological Seminary. She has been Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) certified since 2013 with interpreting skills in various settings. In her spare time, she loves scrapbooking, playing Solitaire, and listening to audiobooks.

Q. What is your favorite color?

A. Blue (light blue and teal) and light yellow

Q. What is your favorite food?

A. eggs and cheese (together or separate)

Q. Do you have pets?

A. No, but if I did, it would be a Lab.

Q. What are your hobbies?

A. Scrapbooking, playing Solitaire, playing games (board games and card games), listening to audiobooks and doing puzzles. I have some puzzles hung up in my place.

Q. What do you like to do?

A. Interpret Contemporary Christian music and hang out with friends

Q. Did you always like reading?

A. No. I didn't start reading leisure books till my freshman year of college. Now I am always listening to an audiobook.

​

Q. What is your favorite book as an adult?

A. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien!!! I read the whole book in 4 days.

​

Q. What was your favorite thing to do as a child?

A. Watch cartoons like Tom and Jerry.
